Meet NOODLE
NOODLE is a one-and-a-half-year-old male Great Pyrenees. He's on the small size for the breed, weighing in at 70 lbs. He was born without an eye, and, while he has the other, he cannot see. Important to note he was born this way, so its always been his "normal." He was surrendered to us when his family found it too much to accommodate him.
He has the best temperament and will make a wonderful companion. While his lack of sight makes him a "special needs" pet, you would be amazed at how well a blind dog can navigate his surroundings. He's currently in a wonderful foster home, and he's doing great! He's gentle with children; he's very affectionate and friendly. He plays nicely with young female dogs and would easily enjoy another dog's company.
There are a couple of MUSTS:
1. Noodle must have a good fenced-in yard and never be allowed the chance to get loose. The yard must be free of hazards - terraced walls, too many trees, fire pits - things he could "fall" from/into or be unable to find away around.
2. A home that remains "predictable" for the dog. Home environment where everything is in its place.
Dogs have a very keen sense of smell, and Noodle is already very adept at using his nose to navigate. In time, you'll find he'll hardly ever bump into anything. He can go up and down stairs, and he'll get to know where the trees are in the backyard.
