Meet GRIFF - Paws Behind Bars prison dog trained
GRIFF is a 10-month-old male Great Pyrenees/Cattle Dog mix who weighs 75 lbs. He was adopted as a puppy and grew and grew until he "outgrew" his family. He got too big, he got too unruly, and he had to go. .
GRIFF is now with us and getting exactly what he needs. He's participating in our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program. He's responding beautifully to his inmate's direction. GRIFF is more of a "people dog." He plays well with other dogs but is most comfortable with his person. If you combine the best of both breeds you get an incredibly loyal companion who needs a job. Griff will be fine with older children, and a fence yard is a plus. He's young and he's big - and although he walks nicely, leash walking won't be enough.
If you’re interested in adopting, our process begins with the submission of our online application, or email us if you submitted an application within the last six months. We review and schedule meet and greets (with approved applicants only) based on the order received.
Please see our FAQ page for the answers to any other questions you might have regarding the adoption process.
