Meet ESTHER

ESTHER is a 8-year-old female Staffordshire Terrier mix. She came to us through a local shelter. They found her skinny and wounded on the streets. At first, we all thought she was a senio,r but, on closer look, she's "middle aged;" its just a hard life taking its toll on her appearance. Both ears are riddled with hematomas (trauma or ear infection). She had a deep gash on a front leg. Her skin was infected with significant hair loss. There are not many teeth left, at least in the front. Her temperament? She's very guarded, never sure about a human's next move. Her initial vet exam revealed she's actually in pretty good shape. Her blood work is good, and her age reassessed downwards of the original 12-14 years. She is being treated for all her other ailments, and she's in a great foster home. She is completely house-trained and gets along well with other dogs. Her favorite things? Her dog bed & blanket, her stuffed toys, and her naps. She doesn't love her crate, but she'll readily go in. She is starting to run and play outside. She needs a quiet, patient home that will help her rebuild her trust. The most disturbing part of her story is that she was "rescued" once. She was spayed and microchipped. We will not fail her attempts to trust a rescue again!
